Prayer Day

Today we invite you to leave a prayer request.  Maybe you are in need of the touch of the Divine…maybe your son needs healing or for the Savior to bow low to grab his heart.  Whatever it is, there’s safety on these pages.
And love.
But we ask that you not stop with just your own request.  Take the time to read the one above you and leave a prayer in written form for that precious soul too.  Let the cycle of love and lifting go on and on…
Let’s pray…

Our family could use prayer for general health. I have the flu, and my son was exposed to headlice last night. My husband travels, and I home school, and could use a quick recovery.
    Thanks…

  2. Dawn Maurice says:

My ten year old is struggling right now. We are in the midst of a move from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts–my husband began a new job at the beginning of the year and has been in MA since then while my son and I remain in PA until we sell our house. Then he watched me have seizures, first a mild one at home, then a more severe one at church one night which landed me in the emergency room. A week later I was having spinal fusion surgery while Grandma flew up from Florida to stay with my son. The poor little guy is scared out of his mind…

I am on the path to recovery, slowly, but Daddy is still over 600 miles away. We are still facing saying goodbye to all of our friends here and heading into a huge unknown and a new school at some point. We’ve only had two showings to date and no offers on the house. We could definitely use some prayers for strength, healing, comfort, and peace as we wait on God’s timing.

Father — I lift my sister Dawn to you. She is in the midst of many trials right now. You know her heart and I pray tha tyour Grace would be sufficient for her. I also Lord lift up her son — that this may be a chance for him to learn about your comfort and grace in trial. That you would strengthen him for the adventure ahead. Lord we pray that you would have mercy, that their home would sell quickly. We praise you for bringing Dawn through the siezures to a diagnosis and bringing her through surgery and continue to pray that you would bless her recovery. Lastly Lord I also pray for Dawn’s husband — that he too would know your comfort and grace and that you would give him wisdom as to how he can be a strength and blessing to his family so many miles away. In Jesus name, Amen.

  5. Joy B says:

We are so often keenly aware of how much wisdom we need to parent our children, but particularly our oldest, a 6 1/2 year old boy. He is high energy, does well academically in school, but gets in trouble alot for “not following instructions, not on task, talking, making noises”.
I often wonder if he would benefit from homeschooling, where I could let him get some of his energies out often. But we also have a 4 1/2 year old, and a 2-year old, and are preparing to go overseas as missionaries (moving internationally is a challenge at best!). So I just don’t know if I have the energy! Would appreciate prayers for wisdom!
Dear Father, please help Dawn Maurice and her family as they are going through some very difficult life changes right now. Especially help and uphold her 10 year old son. Lord, use this time to draw him closer to You, to help him see your personal care of him and your love for him. Please heal Dawn Maurice so that she can care for her family without these health concerns. In Jesus’ name..Amen.

    • Vanessa says:

I also prayed for Dawn (above) but was not quick enough, so hear I am also praying for Joy — Lord, thank you that because of Christ’s sacrifice for us, you hear and answer our prayers. I thank you for Joy’s high energy boy. I pray that your hand would be on him — that he would grow to be a man who loves you and gives you glory. I espeically pray for wisdom in regards to schooling/homeschooling/discipline/and a move to become missionaries. Please bless their famiyl overseas, protect them and use them mightly for your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I could use prayer for discipline in my life. I fear that I already see a lack of discipline in my boys (almost 4 and almost 3) — I am begging for energy and God’s strength to do well at home and with my children. Also, grace for my husband and I as he is in full time work and full time school attempting to finish an accounting designation (he works all day and into the night and weekends).

      Praising God for this community.

  6. Piper says:

I know this is The Mother of Boys site, but along with my boys we have two girls and today my prayer request is concerning my daughter, she is in college and this morning she is taking a test for a program that could lift a huge financial burden from her and our family. This not only effects her but our entire family. I pray God’s will for her life and for her future! May God give her strength, knowledge and a calm spirit today as she takes that test.
    Thanks!!

Lord I lift up Vanessa to you. Lord you know her heart and her struggles. Lord I pray that you give her discernment in raising her boys, and being the wife she needs to be while her husband works hard to provide for their family. Father, on the days that she feels as if she just can’t go another step I pray that you will give her exactly what she needs to take that step and just walk with you. Help her to focus on YOU and not her circumstances. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen

Lord right now I lift up to you Piper. I just prayer that you would be with her daughter today as she takes this test give her the strength she needs to get through it. 7. Gloria says:

Would love prayer for my 4 year old. He has been having stomach problems and we are just trying to determine the issue. Sometimes after eating certain foods he says it hurts but then other times when eating those same foods he’s fine. It may just be an issue of eating/drinking too fast. Either way, would love to see a complete healing. Also prayer for safe travels for my in-laws who are traveling to visit us today and it is currently snowing. :-)

    • Randi says:

Lord, I lift Gloria’s son up to you right now. Lord, let his parents have wise discernment over his stomach issues – whether it be merely eating too fast or if there’s an underlying condition, I pray that they can find the cause. I know how hard it is to see your son in pain, so Lord, please lay your comforting hand on Gloria as they go through this trial.
And Lord, please be with her in-laws who are traveling in less-than-awesome conditions. May their time together be fruitful and happy.
      In your name, Amen.

Thanks to the lord, everything is going fine with me & my family at this moment.
I remember few lines that we used to recite at school before the meals that I would like to share. The lines were-
    “Bless the o Lord,
for these gifts to our use,
    and ask for thy service”.

    May God bless everyone.

    Thanks.

Lord, I lift up Ginger’s daughter to you, please let the drs find out quickly why she is so tired and why her legs are blue. Lord, please protect her from cancer coming back. Give her the physical and emotional strength to handle whatever is happening in her body. Please give the entire family Your peace that passes all understanding, and that they can put their precious daughter in Your hands knowing that You are taking care of her, even when it is not visible. Let them all just rest in You, remove their fears. Let them feel Your safe comforting arms around them.

  11. Faye says:

    Father God,
I pray for all the moms that are part of this blog community. You know us intimately and know the deepest desires we have for ourselves and our sons. I pray that you would show us your presence in our lives and in the lives of our boys. Lift us up when we are weary, keep us lifted up when we are filled with joy, and remind us that YOU are our strength.

I have a prayer request for a family in our neighborhood that lost their 16 year old son in a tragic car accident on Monday night. His death has shaken our community to it’s core. Memorial services and the funeral are this weekend and my prayer is that the Lord would continue to be present and provide strength and understanding to those who are struggling with this loss.

God’s blessings to all of you this weekend!

  13. Randi says:

I could really use some prayer for myself. That sounds selfish but I know that how I feel affects my sons. I’m just feeling overwhelmed – not by anything in particular, but a lot of things.

Lord, I lift up Randi to you. She is feeling overwhelmed, as a mom that trickles over onto the rest of the family. Please help her to see that You are in control and that she can set her priorities according to Your will and that You will be her help. Please remind her that she is a conqueror as Your child and that she can do all things in You, Christ. Please bring her refreshment to her spirit and rest for her weary mind. Please help her set her eyes on You and not the storm.

    • Robin says:

Randi I totally understand, and its not selfish at all….Lord, I lift Randi up to you in prayer. Help her feel your unchanging strength, and that You have your hand on the little things in her life, and that that you LOVE her and her family. Amen.

  18. Alison says:

Lord, please go before the Young family. Keep them safe and healthy as they travel and open hearts and minds as you give them the words to speak. Thank you for gifting them for this ministry.

My request…we are anxiously awaiting the phone call from our adoption agency telling us we have been chosen to parent a baby girl. We have two biological boys, ages 5 and 2. They are so excited to have a little sister. The stress of thee wait, about 10 months now, us really effecting me. I know I am not being the best mom as I live in this world of unknowns, jumping everytime the phone rings. I cherish these days with my boys and I want to give them my best, even though my heart is breaking for our baby girl.

  19. Lord, I pray you would still Alison’s heart and give her family peace as they wait for their phone call about their baby girl. It’s hard to pray Your will, not ours be done, but I do this and pray Your will be done and give this family comfort in waiting. You know exactly when they will be about to parent this little girl and You alone can touch their hearts and minds. In Jesus name,Amen.

We are trying to get our own home, whether to buy or build, and be back close to our families. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and frustrating. We want God’s will done and want to do everything in His timing. If you guys could pray with us it would be awesome!

Randi- I appreciate your openness in asking for prayer for yourself. It’s so helpful to hear other moms be honest about how they feel. After all… If momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy! :-)

  21. Sharon says:

I am asking for prayer for my 6 year old son who has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He is on Day 30 post bone marrow transplant in which I was the donor. He is doing well so far, but cancer is a nasty beast with no rhyme or reason, and I ask for prayer not only for my son’s healing, but also for our emotional and spiritual well-being through this. Every little sneeze or cough can overwhelm with fear if I let it. God has carried us thus far and will for this entire journey.

  22. Kami says:

Fatger, I pray for Jill. I pray that you would be her strength and rock of peace while grieving the loss of their unborn child. Your ways are mysterious, but still perfect. I pray that you would help her and her family rest in you during this time and eagerly await the time when you bless them with another child.

  23. Sharon says:

I am asking for prayer for more order in our day. I have 3 kids ages 6, 4 and 2 and I am pregnant with our 4th. I am overwhelmed because it feels like I just don’t know how to occupy them all day long. I am weary of the crying and arguing and chasing after the 2 year old mischievous adventures. Most days we wake up and someone is crying for some reason or another. I just want prayer for wisdom, order, peace and contentment.

  24. Amy says:

Father, I want to lift Sharon up in prayer to you. Give her the strength and stamina to deal “with it one more time”. Give her the creativity to keep going each day. Also provide the gentle reminder that her strength comes from you and not herself. Amen

I am new to this site (found you this morning), and I am in need of some encouragement! I have been smacked upside the head with the knowledge that I cannot rely on myself, and that others do not sustain me. I am terrible at bringing my day (good & bad) to God, and have really crashed lately. And I’m starting to see this affect my son (he’s 22 months). I know that part of his mood swings could be age related, or teething, or any number of things — but it could also be me. And I desperately want to be the best mom to him that I can be, and that requires my strength and confidence to be in God & not myself. Thank you.

    • Jane says:

Dear Father, I want to bring Amy to You today. Help her to rely on You. You give her all the strength she needs, for when we are weak, YOU are strong and carry us through. Give her patience with her beautiful son. Help her to be a calming refuge in times of storm in their home. Would You please give her the desire of her heart, to be the best Mommy for her son? Thank You, Father. You are our Jehovah-Rapha, restore Amy and draw her to You. Amen

  25. Jane says:

I am asking God for guidance as we hope and have faith that God is giving us Robbie, a previous foster child. He’s been living in our home near full-time for almost a year. He has nightmares about going to his grandma’s house (she was given custody 2 years ago). Our hearts melt with his struggles as we try to calm his fears. He is so very precious to us. I feel God has been telling me to stand back while HE fights this battle. We don’t know the outcome. We pray for God to be glorified in us and our responses with this amazing little boy and his birth family. We have hope and faith God will do His amazing work in us all.

  26. Emily says:

Wow. Lord, I lift up Jane to you now. I am humbled by her request as she has sacrificed herself to love this little boy who is not biologically her own. What a picture of you, Lord, as you have adopted us as your children. I pray that she would be at peace as she just continues to love Robbie. I pray for his protection from physical and emotional and spiritual harm. I pray you would give this family wisdom as they parent Robbie and that you would indeed be glorified in all of their lives. Thank you, Lord, for this testimony of the love you place in our hearts for our children.

I am asking for prayer just in the “dailyness” of mothering 4 little boys. I am having trouble being patient and calm, when things in my house are usually very loud and energetic. I am struggling with losing my temper with my boys. I am feeling inadequate. I just ask for prayer that I would know and believe that I walk in grace. That where I am weak, HE is strong. And that God has called me to this time and this place for a great purpose, and He is walking faithfully beside me.
    Thank you!

Lord, I lift up my Sister in You Emily, that she feels Your presence in her daily struggles of being a mom to 4 boys. Please refresh her spirit, bring someone who’s been there or is going through the exact same thing to walk this journey right alongside her. That Emily will keep her sights on the eternal and not the earthly. Please affirm her that You love her and are for her and proud of the hard work she is doing. Please give her a special time of renewal and quiet where she can rest in You.

I ask prayer for our future residence. We are needing to move soon. We are not too scared, we trust our future is in His hands. We just want to bring Him glory, if that’s even possible, in our failure. We need a fresh start. We have specifically been praying for good, quiet neighbors, and even a Christian one, if that’s not asking for too much. It has been a really hard struggle for my kids. We need a lenient landlord that will overlook the credit and see that we are trying to improve it and give us grace. Thank you!

  28. Janet says:

    Dear God,
I pray for my sisters in the trenches. You truly do meet us in the mess of our day to day lives. While intellecutually we know that if you have brought us to it, you can lead us through it. But help us to remember that with our hearts as well as our minds. Each one of my sister’s walks her own journey with you. Please Dear Father give them the comfort, strength and wisdom to lean on you no matter what.
    Amen

Ladies I come to you tonight a Mom in transition. For such a long time I have been praying for God to lead me on a new career path. Now an opportunity as director of a Children’s Ministry has come up, but its not in our church, its in the next town over. It would also mean leaving the Church family we have known since we moved to the area. Please pray for God’s will to be done in regards to the job and for acceptance from both me and my family regarding the implications of such a move. Thank you sisters. Thank you.

Father, I pray for Janet today as she stands at the fork in her path. Lord, I ask that you would nt only reveal Your will to her, but that you would give her the strength to step forward into Your glorious will for her.

Ladies, I ask for prayer for my 2 boys (4 yrs and 3 mo). I have been praying God’s protection over them while they are with their father (we’re going through a divorce), and now I’m asking you to help me.

  32. Karla says:

Father, I ask that you lift Cassie and her two boys up as they are going through such a tough time. Please protect these precious boys physically and emotionally. Please be with their father and work in his heart to do what is best for his sons. Be with Cassie and help her to be strong for her sons so that she can provide them what they need. Also, Lord I ask that you send these two boys a male roll model so they can become the strong men in your image that you plan them to be. I ask these things in the name of your son, Jesus. Amen

I would like to ask for prayers for my sons. I have four children, three of them boys. Two of my boys have special needs. I ask that God please be with my boys and help their minds to open up so they can learn. I ask him to help them with their speech so that they can someday be dismissed from therapy and talk normally. Please pray for my boys that they will be able to one day lead normal and productive lives. Please pray that God will lead me to do whatever is necessary to help them.
