goofy grins…

and yes, even the mess

I’m so thankful…without these things I wouldn’t be a member of  The M.O.B. Society!

What “boy” things are you thankful for? Tell me in the comments!

Simple Gratitude And Giving

Welcome back from a weekend of celebrating the blessings and goodness of our awesome Provider!  I hope your home was filled with gratitude and your leftovers consist of warm memories!

As we continue the spirit of gratitude and begin a season of giving, our desire is to teach our boys contentment and thankfulness by showing them a glimpse of the needy children around the world.  We’ve been having conversations about how other children’s homes may not be filled with toys, clothing, two parents, shoes, or food.  I’ve been showing them videos on YouTube that highlight different missions and ministry efforts, such as Operation Christmas Child.

Last week, we packed 4 shoe boxes filled with goodies for 4 little boys who we’ve never met.  It certainly wasn’t filled with extravagant or expensive gifts.  However, it’s something we could do from inside our four walls to hopefully impact others for the gospel.

Sometimes its the simplest of gestures that can impress the hearts of our children the most.

Here’s a video of our boys packing their shoe boxes of goodies, love, and hope…

Murray Quadruplets Packing Shoe boxes for OCC

It’s not too late to build a custom shoe box online for OCC if you are interested in blessing a child and sharing Jesus this Christmas! You can also watch and rate more Operation Christmas Child videos on “ShoeTube“.

Please be so kind as to join the M.O.B. Society in tonight’s Twitter party (#CelebrateMOB) where we’re celebrating SIX months of ministry to moms of boys, ushering in the Christmas season, AND unveiling an exclusive Warrior Prayers art collection.

So Thankful

I am so very thankful for a God who hears my prayers, and answers them!

I always wonder if I’m saying the right thing, or doing what’s best. I’m not perfect. I’m not the perfect mom. But in God’s Love and abounding Grace, he meets me where I am and uses everything about me for the good of my children.

Am I protecting them enough from the terrible immodesty in the world? Am I being the shield they need me to be? Did something slip past me without my knowledge and is now festering in my sons mind and heart?

I don’t know. But God does. And he knows my heart. And He knows that my heart’s cry is to raise my son to be Godly, respectful, and having eyes and desires only for his future wife.

Today, I am thankful that I can see the fruit of my prayers.

That when my 8 year old son comes to me and tells me he had a funny thought of a girl being his girlfriend, and he tells me that he knows he shouldn’t and that he wants to pray with me…well, I know God has His hand in it. I know that He is hearing my prayers and is so very Gracious in letting me know that I’m not the total screw-up I think I may be sometimes.

Today, I am thankful that I have a God who Cares about me and also my family.

Today, I am thankful for His undeserving Grace. Where I lack, {which is in all areas!} He meets me there and guides me along with Him. When I feel like I’ve lost it, and that I just can’t protect my son from all of the indecency in the world and I think He’s just going to be a total mess…I remember God’s word.

His Promises.

And I am so very thankful.
